STN AnaVist Software Licensing

STN AnaVist software is free to all STN users.  Refer to the STN AnaVist License Agreement (PDF, 63 KB) for usage restrictions.

  • To license and download software, visit the STN Software License and Download web site.  This option is available for STN-Columbus and STN-Tokyo Service Center customers and is not available for STN accounts opened over the Internet through STN Easy.  European customers should contact STN-Karlsruhe. 
  • To order software on CD-ROM, fax or mail a completed STN AnaVist Order Form (PDF, 143 KB) to CAS. 

An STN login ID or an STN Login ID for Shared Projects is required to use STN AnaVist: 

  • To request a full-access STN login ID, complete and return the STN Agreement and Order Form (PDF, 162 KB). 
  • To request STN Login IDs for Shared Projects, current STN login ID holders must complete and return the STN Login IDs for Shared Projects Request Form (PDF, 163 KB). 


Login IDs for Shared Projects

To share visualization projects, both the sender and receiver must have:

  • STN AnaVist, Version 1.1 or higher 
  • STN login IDs or STN Login IDs for Shared Projects

Holders of STN Login IDs for Shared Projects are permitted to:            

  • Download STN AnaVist software directly from CAS
  • Request STN AnaVist software on CD-ROM 
  • Open STN AnaVist shared projects
  • Customize projects, e.g., create and format charts, edit and group terms, annotate the Research Landscape
  • Perform subset visualizations
  • Flag (Version 1.0) or label (Version 2.0) documents
  • Display, print, and save documents (standard charges apply)
  • Share customized projects with others
  • Create Summary and Detailed Reports
  • Delete visualization projects
  • Display, download, and print full text (for materials available without restrictions or covered under their organization's electronic licenses)
  • Purchase electronic copies of full text (via the ChemPort Connection)
  • Order documents (via the ChemPort Connection)

Holders of STN Login IDs for Shared Projects are not permitted to:

  • Initiate a new search within STN AnaVist
  • Create a new visualization project
  • Import STN Express answer sets
  • Use the Download CAplus Documents feature

All STN Login IDs for Shared Projects must be requested by a full-access STN login ID holder using the STN Login IDs for Shared Projects Request Form (PDF, 163 KB).  All fees incurred with STN Login IDs for Shared Projects are billed to the full-access STN account with which they are associated.
