Copying an Index Term and Pasting It in Word Search

Introduction

Use Copy/Paste to place the searchable form of a term in Word Search.

When to Use

Use Copy/Paste when:

  • It is faster than typing the term
  • There is a chance the term will be typed incorrectly

Example

Copy the term "Abcouwer, Steve F." from the Author Index and paste it in Word Search.

How to

1. From an Index window, click on the term of interest.

2. From the Edit menu, select Copy.

3. From the tool bar, click Search.

The Word Search window is displayed.

4. Position the cursor in a Word Entry Box. Click Paste.

The Index term appears in the Word Entry Box.
