Word Proximity Relationships

Introduction

CA on CD's Word Search feature gives you the option to specify the proximity of search terms within a document record.

Application

Word Proximity Relationship options apply only to terms in the WORD Search Field.

Description

Word Proximity Relationship options are defined in the following table:

    Proximity Relationship

    Retrieves records that contain the search terms

    Same Document

    (Default)

    In any order and in any field of the record

    Same Paragraph

    In any order within the same paragraph or index entry

    Words Apart

    Within a certain number of words to each other. The range may be from 0-9 intervening words.

    Exact Order

    In the exact order that you typed them. This option in only available when the Words Apart option is selected.

Note:  Search term proximity relationship options apply to terms between rows in the Word Search window. Terms entered in the same row are always adjacent.
