Chemist Consultation - Substance Identification

For substance identification or CAS Registry Number assignment...

When you need to find substance information for reports, proprietary files, online searching, confirmation for an International Nonproprietary Name (INN), or United States Adopted Name (USAN) application, contact CAS Client Services. Supply us with names, CAS Registry Numbers, or structure diagrams, and our chemists will provide you with the following substance information:

  • CAS Registry Numbers (new or existing)
  • CA Index Names (new or existing)
  • Substance definitions
  • Molecular formulas
  • Structure diagrams
  • Synonyms

Avoid delays by reviewing CAS Registration Criteria Overview and Registry Number Info Requirements before submitting your request.

All requests are kept strictly confidential. Most requests are processed within 10 working days once all of the information for processing is received.

Please submit the Chemist Consultation - Substance Identification Order Form and relevant chemical structure diagram/descriptive information by fax to expedite processing.
