How to... Refine Reference Answer Sets

Refine is one of the many SciFinder Scholar tools that allow you to explore, evaluate, and review your reference answer sets.



1.

When references are displayed in your main SciFinder Scholar window, click the Analyze/Refine button. Then click Refine.

 


2. Select an option for focusing your answer set.

 

Tips
  • You may refine (and/or analyze) multiple times with any combination of the options.

    Select this option...

    To identify answers that...

    Research Topic Contain additional technical terminology
    Company Name

    Originate from a particular organization or university

    Author Name Were written by a particular author
    Publication Year Were published in a particular timeframe
    Document Type Came from a particular category of source document
    Language Were written in a particular language
    Database Came from a specific database

For example, select Document Type. Then select the specific types of documents in which you are interested. Click OK.

Review your answers.
