Examples of CA on CD Control Files

CA on CD and CI on CD use several key initialization files that provide links to the server and database files and the HASP licence server.

The use of UNC (Universal Naming Convention) for path definitions within those files is very strongly recommended.  Although the CA on CD software will function with Mapped Drive Names, many potential problems can be avoided by using UNC paths.

Sample files are shown below.  The actual paths and names on your system will be different, but should follow the form depicted in these example.  If you experience problems with database access or errors about failure to access the HASP license server, the Software Support Team will often request a copy of the following five (5) initialization files.

The five diagnostic files are:

a. CACDPATH.INI, LOG.TXT, and NETHASP.INI from the
shared software directory on the server

b. CACD.INI and LOG.TXT from any client machine

(C:\CACD default directory in the above path examples).

Examples of the *.ini files
