How to... Work with Reactions

Web Version of SciFinder

SciFinder offers many tools that allow you to explore, evaluate, and review your reaction answer sets.  The following screen highlights those tools. 


Top window for reactions search 

 

1.gif Get related information for an individual reaction.

Click... When you want to...
reactclickfordetail.gif Display detailed information about that reaction

Click... When you want to...
reactgetrefdetaila.gif Retrieve references associated with the reaction
reactfulltext.gif View full-text options for the reaction


2.gif Keep or remove reactions from your answer set.

Click... When you want to...
keepselected.gif Retain only those reactions that have been selected.  All others will be removed from the answer set.
removeselected.gif Eliminate the selected reactions from the answer set.  Only unselected reactions will be retained in the answer set.

Use Select All and Deselect All to help you quickly select or deselect many reactions at once. 


3.gif Get related information for your answer set.

substgetreferences.gif Retrieve references pertaining to the selected reaction(s)

To get related information for only a subset of the answers, select the reactions of interest before clicking one of the above three options.  If none are selected, the entire answer set will be included.


4.gif Analyze or refine your answer set.

  • Refine Reactions 


4.gif Save, print, or export your answer set.

Click... When you want to...
savebutton1.gif Save your answer set to the CAS server
printbutton.gif Print your answer set
exportbutton.gif Save your answer set to your desktop or another local folder

To save, print, or export only a subset of the answers, select the reactions of interest before clicking one of the above three options.  If none are selected, the entire answer set will be included.


6.gif Begin a new task.

Click... When you want to...
scifinderclick.gif Go to your default SciFinder start page, as set in your preferences
referencesbutton.gif Go to the Explore References page, where you can begin a new search or retrieve a saved answer set
substancesbutton1.gif Go to the Explore Substances page, where you can begin a new search or retrieve a saved answer set
reactionsbutton1.gif Go the Explore Reactions page, where you can begin a new search or retrieve a saved answer set

Note:  Clicking any of the above four options will start a new task and your previous task may no longer be available.
