CA Lexicon Interface

Available with STN Express, Version 7.0 and higher for Windows


Enter a search term in CA or CAplus. If the term or phrase is in the CA Lexicon, it is highlighted in a yellow box. Right-click on the highlighted term to view the CA Lexicon entries.

The CA Lexicon display window appears and lists the CA Lexicon entries for the highlighted term. Select the terms to include in your search strategy, and the appropriate Boolean operator, e.g., AND, OR. Click Add Terms.

The additional search terms you select are automatically added to your search query. Press the return key to execute the search with the CA Lexicon terms included.

The CA Lexicon terms are searched in the Basic Index (/BI) and are recorded in your transcript.
