How to Use the STN Basics Module

The training material in this module is divided into 3 parts:

  1. Introduction
  2. Training Module (Part 1 - Part 4)
  3. Accessory Material to the Training Module
    • Skills Practice with Solutions
    • Online Practice with Solutions
    • Examples

The main body of training material is found in the Training Module sections (Part 1 - Part 4). Complementary material, such as practice problems and detailed examples, is located in the Accessory Material section and is hyper-linked to the Training Module at the appropriate place. For the most effective presentation of the material it is suggested that you cover the Training Module material in sequential order. An organization chart of the material is included to help you navigate through the module.

Throughout the module certain conventions are used:

  1. TOC is used as an abbreviation for Table of Contents
  2. In representations of STN online interactions
    • STN online interaction text is indented to the right of the Training Module text
      • User input is in bold
      • STN output is in regular text
    • Comments pertaining to the online interaction are in italics

We would like to hear from you! Please take a moment to tell us your thoughts on the value of this material on the Web. Let us know what additional Web-based training you would like to see. Send your comments to wksp@cas.org. Thank you for your interest.
