IFICLS Updates Resume on STNUpdates to the IFICLS database have resumed. The database will be brought up-to-date on January 6, 2012. Weekly updates will occur regularly, thereafter. Weekly SDI runs will resume the second week in January following weekly updates. Monthly SDI runs for IFICLS will resume on February 1, 2012. For the latest update information, type NEWS FILE at an arrow prompt within the IFICLS database or contact your local STN Service Center. Online Access to Very Large Chemical Structure Images Enhanced on STNSave time and increase efficiency with the enhanced ability to display very large chemical structure images in STN. Previously, very large chemical structure images were not available for display. Instead of "STRUCTURE DIAGRAM TOO LARGE FOR DISPLAY - AVAILABLE VIA OFFLINE PRINT," these images will now display online and appear in transcripts. This enhancement is available to customers using STN on the Web and STN Express, Version 8.5. Customers using STN Express, Version 8.4 or earlier will need to upgrade to take advantage of this enhancement.
Structure Graphics Have Been Added to Abstracts for MARPAT and CA/CAplus on SciFinder and STNView chemical substance images for more patent records with the addition of over 79,000 structure graphics (issue graphics) to the MARPAT and CA/CAplus databases on STN and SciFinder. The enhanced availability of these images increases customers access to information regarding the structure of chemical entities disclosed in Markush patents. Structure graphics are now available for more than 75 percent of MARPAT records.
MEDLINE Reload - Updated MeSH Vocabulary and Two New Fields on STNNew features and enhancements are now available with the STN reload of MEDlars onLINE (MEDLINE/LMEDLINE), produced by the U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM). Revised 2012 MeSH Changes to the MeSH vocabulary include:
For the most comprehensive searching in MEDLINE, consult the updated MeSH thesaurus for new or better search terms. Review your SDIs running in MEDLINE with the new MeSH vocabulary to determine whether updating is necessary. New Search Fields RAU.EX Search Field The new RE.EX field for cited references works similarly to the RAU.EX search field for cited reference authors.
