Pricing for SELECTing Patent, Application, and Priority Numbers in the USPAT and IFI Database Families Is Now Consistent with Similar Patent Databases on STN - USD

New pricing has been introduced for the USPAT (US Patent Publications) databases (USPATFULL / USPAT2 / USPATOLD) and the IFI databases (IFIPAT / IFIUDB / IFICDB) based on the number of records from which patent numbers are SELECTed. This introduction makes the pricing of USPAT and IFI database families consistent with other full-text and value-added patent databases on STN.

As with similar databases on STN, a per-record charge will now be applied in these databases whenever the SELECT command is executed for the following:

  • patent numbers (PN, PNK, PATS)
  • application numbers (AP, APPS)
  • priority application numbers (PRN, PRAI)

Here's how it works: Imagine that your multifile answer set contains 10 records, and three of them, from USPATFULL, contain one or more patent numbers. When you execute a SELECT PN command on your answer set, you will be charged three times the USPATFULL per unit charge (currently $0.40 per record) for SELECTing PNs since three records in your answer set contain patent numbers.

See HELP COST in any of the databases listed above for additional information.
